About

This is my little blog where I’ll detail any info I find (or learn from others) about Clear’s iSpot.

Hello – I’m oz_paulb.  I’m an embedded software developer in my main job, and have an interest in reverse-engineering other devices (especially ‘locked down’ devices).  I was part of the original Xbox-Linux team, was responsible for the “LBA48 patch” that allowed the original Xbox to use hard drives over 128GB (the previous limit).  I’ve done some limited work on AppleTV and iPhone, but really didn’t have much time to dedicate to it.

The iSpot looked interesting (and seemed ‘hackable’ – based on previous work by “jaku” and “wojo”), so I ordered one and just started looking at it (today: 23 August 2010)

Contacting me: It has recently come to my attention that I didn’t offer any way for people to contact me.  If you wish to email me, I have a hotmail.com account with the same user name as I do on this blog.

Disclaimer: information on this site is for educational purposes only, and intended to help iSpot owners experiment with their own devices. I do not condone any hacking for illegal purposes, such as stealing service, etc.
